Kind of Work
Very responsible technical work in the examination and review of plans and specifications of proposed construction development sites for compliance with the stormwater regulations of the city of New Orleans; local, state, and federal erosion and sediment control regulations. Work also involves field inspections to certify compliance with approved plans; and related work as required.
- Two (2) years of professional experience examining and reviewing plans and specifications of buildings structures, and developments for compliance with the provisions of all applicable regulations (local, state, federal) regarding stormwater management and erosion/sediment controls.
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, civil engineering, environmental sciences, landscape architecture, or a closely related field, OR a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours of coursework in civil engineering, environmental sciences, landscape architecture, hydrology, hydraulics (as applied to stormwater management), or related coursework.
If appointed, employee must be certified by StormwaterOne (or similar provider) as a "Qualified Preparer of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans" and complete the StormwaterOne training course entitled "Post-Construction Stormwater Maintenance (MP199)" during the probationary period. No probationary period may last longer than one year. If employees are not certified by StormwaterOne and do not complete the required "Post-Construction Stormwater Maintenance" training course during their probationary period, they will be terminated and must wait one year from the end of their probationary period or receive certification to be considered for rehire.
