About SOUL

The mission of Sustaining Our Urban Landscape (SOUL) is to drive a resilient and environmentally equitable New Orleans through reforesting our city. SOUL was launched in June 2016, and since then, the organization has planted more than 1,800 large, native, water-loving trees. The Coordinator will be in charge of the Community Forestry (tree plantings) and Education (annual Community Forestry Series) programs.

Tipton Associates is a 30+ member interdisciplinary team of Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, and Campus/Urban Planners. From our office in Baton Rouge, LA, we have completed projects in 30 states around the country with a regional focus on projects in education, wellness, civic, campus dining and master planning.

We are currently seeking an Entry to Mid-Level Landscape Architect/Designer to join our growing team. As a member of our interdisciplinary project team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively in an interactive studio environment throughout all phases of multiple projects. Responsibilities will include planning, design, presentations, preparation of construction documents and construction administration. This is an excellent opportunity for professional growth in our fast paced, collaborative and client-focused practice. Requirements:

Landscape Architecture degree (BSLA, BLA, MLA) working toward licensure.

Architecture Technology degree or similar

Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Adobe Creative Suite

Strong communication, organizational and client service skills

Office Experience 1-2 years+

We are seeking a mid‐level landscape designer to join our team, with the ability to work in a fast‐paced creative environment with tight deadlines, who has 3‐7 years of experience with technical documentation, project management, on‐site observation, and is well versed in Gulf Coast regional plant material. Requirements Overview

• Strong knowledge of grading, hardscape, cost estimation and technical aspects of landscape architecture

• Strong team leadership abilities and firm leadership potential

• Proficiency in construction documentation

• Diverse project experience with an emphasis on urban public space projects

• Excellent internal and external communication and collaboration skills. Bilingual abilities are a plus

• Public speaking, client presentation and interview skills

• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe CC, Office 365, and SketchUp Pro or other rendering software

• LEED AP / Sustainable Sites / PLA credentials are a plus. Desire to become licensed in Louisiana required.

• Experience working with a range of consultants and clients

The Position: Angelo’s Lawnscape is looking to add a full-time designer to our staff. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to multitask. We will be looking for an applicant that can maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while providing quality designs in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in landscape architecture or related field (license not required)

  • Thorough knowledge of common South Louisiana plants

  • Strong communication and people skills

  • Great communication skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Land F/X

  • Ability to work on multiple project concurrently

  • 1-5 years of experience in a landscape architecture firm or design/build office

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with clients about their project goals

  • Preparing a plan based on key points discussed with client

  • Estimating the cost of construction and installation

Very responsible technical work in the examination and review of plans and specifications of proposed construction development sites for compliance with the stormwater regulations of the city of New Orleans; local, state, and federal erosion and sediment control regulations.  Work also involves field inspections to certify compliance with approved plans; and related work as required.
